I was lucky enough to travel to Ballarat at the invitation of Casey and Dave to be part of their subtly 1920′s themed Wedding. Casey and Dave had planned their Wedding to be candid, elegant and relaxed and it was all those things. It was also full of lots of laughter and jokes.
Brim Brim Gardens in Buninyong hosted the Outdoor Ceremony with close family and friends present. Casey wore a gown she had designed herself and was made by local Courtesan Beau at House of Bespoke Couture. Beau also assisted with styling for the whole day. Bridesmaid April and Groomsmen Anthony helped keep the day fun and lighthearted. But biggest smiles for the day had to go to Dave, it was almost impossible to get a serious face for a photo! A wonderful ‘problem‘ to have though is a Groom that is just so darned happy.
Casey and Dave chose to hold their Reception at the grandiose Craig’s Royal Hotel. Originally opened in 1853 in the height of the Australian Goldrush, the Hotel has played host to Princes, Prime Ministers and Poets. April and Anthony almost had to walk the last bit of the journey though after the Rolls Royce decided to call it quits backfiring down the expansive Lydiard Street! But the drama did not last for long as she was cranked back up and given shotgun out the front of the Hotel.
Before arriving at Reception the Bridal party enjoyed a moments refreshment in the Tower. An incredible part of the Hotel giving you a different birds eye view over Ballarat out each window, so many spots to explore. But it was soon time to head down to the Reading Room and back to the guests to celebrate. Sticking with the 1920′s theme, guests were entertained by Pip, Jim and Russell who together make Moodswing. The sounds of Swing and Jazz filled the Reading Room perfectly as everyone continued to celebrate into the evening.
Thank you Casey and Dave for making me so welcome and sharing your day with me. I have a reason to come back to Ballarat now!
